UN/STUCK: Spirit

UNSTUCK: Spirit

John 20:19-19-22

19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

John 14:1, 16-17 (AMP)

1. Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me.

16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.

BIG IDEA: An intimate, growing relationship with the Holy Spirit (the Helper) will not only help us get unstuck, but stay unstuck.

POWER POINTS:

  1. Our relationship with God starts with a breath, and grows through breathing Him in and breathing Him out

  1. Genesis 2:7: And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

  1. John 20:22: “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’”

  1. The Holy Spirit is continuously, and intimately, teaching us, reminding us, and guiding us. So to stay unstuck, breath it in, and breath it out.
    1. John 14:26: But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
    2. John 16:13: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
      1. Teach – to hold discourse, to explain, expound, and instruct
      2. Guide – literally, to show the way.

  1. Example: David
    1. Teach my fingers for battle
      1. David and Goliath
        1. Taught in the moment
        2. Reminded of previous battles
        3. Guided into strategy (stone)

  1. The more than Holy Spirit teaches, reminds, and guides, the more Jesus is glorified and when Jesus is glorified, it’s impossible to remain stuck. So to stay unstuck, breath Him in, and breath Him out.
    1. John 16:14: “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.”
    2. Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His

  1. The Holy Spirit gives us the prophetic advantage by telling us things to come. So to stay unstuck, breath in the advantage and breath it out.
    1. John 16:13: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

  1. The Holy Spirit is continuously, and intimately, empowering us to live relationally supernatural, where breath becomes wind, and custom fit miracles flow through us.
    1. Acts 1:8: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
